The extracted data is processed and analyzed by powerful mathematical algorithms and Big Data techniques to generate unique KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). SmartPlay is HEXAFIT’s advanced safety module for the prevention of Traumatic Brain injury (TBI) during games and practice. SmartPlay detects impacts magnitude and frequency as well as induced rotational and linear accelerations. Real-time and historical impact parameters with added personal, physiological and environmental information are combined with real-time performance variation for a personalized and timely assessment of concussion risk. SmartPlay relies on the main HEXAFIT hub and will be supplemented in the near future by peripheral sensors such as a dedicated mouth guard unit, helmet sensory paddings and armbands. Key safety indicators (KSI)s provide a real-time and accurate reporting of players status. The generated data could eventually have a useful role in post impact medical diagnosis by providing accurate visualization of cranial cavity movements under impacts.
HEXAFIT’s turn-key solution is centered around the system’s individual wearable unit which is the core sensing module for impact and motion-based performance parameters while concurrently acting as the main communications hub connecting the peripheral body sensors to the main controlling system.
